National Schools Championships
County Finals
The Suffolk finals at Key Stage 4 (under-16) took place at Ipswich School Sports Centre on 16th January. Finalists from across Suffolk participated with entries from East Bergholt, Sir John Leman, Castle Manor, Newmarket Academy, Stowmarket, Debenham, St Felix, Copleston, Ormiston Sudbury, and Holbrook schools. A very competitive and enjoyable tournament took place.
Suffolk Badminton Association congratulates all the teams that took part for reaching the county finals. The winners were:
Girls: East Bergholt High School
Boys: Debenham High School
These schools will represent Suffolk in the regional finals to take place at University of Cambridge Sports Centre on Monday 2nd March 2026. Good luck teams!
Players can now play in Over-40 matches as soon as they reach their 38th birthday.
Suffolk Badminton Association enters teams in the Over-40, Over-50, Over-60 and Over-65 Masters County Championships. Fixtures are released at the end of August for the following season.
Over-40, Over-50, Over-60 and Over-65 teams will take part in the County Championships in 2025/26 season. Suffolk will be represented by teams in the Over-40, Over-45, Over-60 and Over-65 categories in the Inter County Challenge over the weekend of 10 and 11 January 2026 across the country..
Masters players from all parts of the county will have playing get-togethers early and mid season on a typical club night style.

As well as the county junior, senior and masters squads, the association runs about ten tournaments each year. There is also a well-funded strategic development action plan to promote the growth of badminton across Suffolk: by supporting activities from grassroots to competition level.
